Conferences
AAVDI host or support a conference most years. For 2023 the focus will be on the IVRA EDVI Joint Scientific Conference in Dublin, Ireland in June. In 2024 we will host our biannual practitioner and specialist education conference in stunning Queenstown, New Zealand! Registrations to open in November.
Recent Events
AAVDI is excited to announce that we are proceeding with a 2024 meeting to be held in New Zealand.
The conference will be held at the QT, Queenstown from the 17th to the 19th of March. This is a ‘destination’ meeting providing a great opportunity for some professional collegiality, networking and fun.
We are presenting one (pre-) day of General Practitioner CE and 1.5 days of Specialist focused educational content.
Topics for our Sunday GP Day will include a focus on Cardiology, including echocardiography and thoracic ultrasound (TPOCUS).
Sunday evening, we will host ‘welcome’ drinks and canapes at the venue. A conference dinner will be held on Monday night as part of the specialist meeting.
We have secured Dr Rachel Pollard as one of our keynote speakers for the specialist meeting.
Rachel is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and is a Professor Emerita, having recently retired from her long-standing position at UC Davis. She is now working with Southern Veterinary Imaging and is based in Nelson, New Zealand. Her primary research and clinical interest area is the application of fluoroscopy for functional diseases of swallowing and respiration. Rachel is a world-renowned expert in this area.
Specialist imaging topics will focus on updates in aerodigestive disorders and imaging features of infectious disease (local and exotic) with a focus on providing education for our growing teleradiology community.
The specialist program will also have room for our local community (specialists, interns, and residents) to present interesting case material or research topics. Please contact us if you are interested in presenting any material at the conference.
A preliminary program will be available in early December.
We very much look forward to seeing everyone there and having a great meeting in New Zealand.

AAVDI 2022 Annual Conference

After a two-year COVID drought, AAVDI were delighted to host the 2022 Annual Conference in the stunning Adelaide Hills.
The conference included a Practitioner’s Day (‘The Vomiting Dog and Cat”) and Specialist Education Days with a focus on “Updates in Advanced Thoracic Imaging and Respiratory Medicine” with keynote speaker Prof. Lynelle Johnson.
